Terms & Conditions 2025

The following terms and conditions cover the use of babycity® website including shopping and participation in promotions run by Baby City Limited, in-store or online.

Pricing

All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZ$) and include GST (15% Goods and Services Tax). All prices are correct at time of publication; however we reserve the right to alter prices for any reason. babycity.co.nz prices and offers may vary from in-store prices due to website specific sales and promotions. These promotions and prices will only be available online and not in any babycity® store. Sale prices are not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.

The babycity® Price Promise

We’re here to promise you peace of mind, knowing your parenting journey begins with us. Peace of mind includes price! So, if you find the identical product (same brand, model, colour, and a new-boxed item for delivery/ collection that day) from a competitor, we’ll match the price.

PLUS, if you are a bubclubTM member you’ll receive a further 5% off!

The price promise:

  • does not apply to offers by vendors outside New Zealand, rain checks, quotes, or special orders, liquidation sales, clearance or warehouse outlets, manufacturers clearance, auction websites or private sellers, and any other discount such as Gold Cards.
  • is at our discretion, and we retain the right to refuse the match without disclosing the reason. 

Once our team has verified these terms and conditions, we will gladly action the price promise.

Returns, Repairs, Replacements

We're with you on your parenting journey, so if you need to return an item, we will, at our discretion, happily offer you a store credit or equivalent exchange, if you provide proof of purchase, date and amount, AND you return the goods within 14 days of purchase, along with any promotional items included with the purchase. The proposed return item must be re-saleable (ie new, unused, in original undamaged packaging, unwashed and with labels intact). Some items are excluded: certain clearance items, and certain products are excluded for hygiene reasons like maternity / nursing bras, breast pumps and accessories, toileting products, reusable and swim nappies. Please choose carefully, and know that, as always, we are here to advise you on the best purchase decision for you, your budget and your whānau.

Refunds

Any refund will be processed via the payment method used for the initial transaction.

Warranty Policy

Any product may be returned if faulty, or does not match its description, or is not fit for purpose. Whenever goods are faulty, arrive damaged, or fail this guarantee, at our option we will happily repair, replace or refund for a reasonable time after purchase, at our option, as appropriate.

Purchasing from babycity.co.nz

We aim for convenient, quick, easy and secure shopping. Products displayed on this site can be purchased using secure online Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Oxipay, After-pay and Q Card. In-store we also accept farmers card, farmlands cards.

Customers can be confident that all of their details are protected by security mechanisms and are used only for purposes of the transaction fulfilment. You will be asked to register as a member of the bubclub™. Apart from member benefits, you’ll receive emails containing deals and information, and your shopping address details will be filed (saving you the effort of entering these details each time you checkout). If you do not wish to be contacted, please un-tick the box agreeing to receive bubclub¬™ offers via email. This means we will not contact you with promotion or information communications, but we will still hold your details for shopping purposes. We may also contact you in direct reference to your order or product.

Purchasing online with Afterpay

Afterpay lets you pay for your purchases in 4 payments, every 2 weeks. There are no fees or interest for purchases up to $2000, when you pay on time and in full. To be eligible to use Afterpay you need: a New Zealand credit card or debit card; be over 18 years of age; and have a New Zealand residential address. If you need more information around paying with Afterpay, please read more here or contact our customer care team on 0800 282 2582. The funds for your first payment must be available on your chosen card at the time of checkout. If you fail to make a payment, you'll be charged a late payment fee of $10, with a further $7 fee added 7 days later, if the payment is still unpaid.

Purchasing Online with Q Card

You can use your Q Card to make online purchases at babycity.co.nz and receive various payment terms including (subject to their approval 3 months interest free and longer term finance). To use Q Card online simply select 'Credit Card' as your payment type when you check-out, enter your Q Card number, expiry date and CVV number. (Your CVV number is a 3 digit number displayed on the back on your Q Card). Q Card combines the benefits of a credit card with the added ability to access a range of interest-free deals at thousands of stores nationwide. Colours

Every effort has been made to portray product colours on this website as accurately as possible. However, because the actual colours you see depends on the monitor you are using, babycity® cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will be completely accurate.

Use of babycity.co.nz by you

Your right to use this website is personal to you. You may not authorise others to use this website and you are responsible for your own use of this website. You may not download, modify, transmit, or otherwise use any material from this website for public or commercial purposes. This website content, information and advice is free of charge (unless otherwise stipulated). However, you are responsible for your own network and connection charges. Other than connecting to babycity’s servers by HTTP requests using a web browser, you may not attempt to gain access to babycity’s servers by any means including, without limitation, by using administrator passwords or by masquerading as an administrator while using this website or otherwise. You agree not to disrupt, modify or interfere with this website or its associated software, hardware and servers in any way and you agree not to impede or interfere with others’ use of this website. In-store Laybys

Layby payment options are not available for online purchases made at babycity.co.nz. If you have found an item/s on babycity.co.nz that you wish to layby, this payment option is available in all physical babycity® stores in New Zealand (excluding online only specials), please refer to the store locator to find your local babycity® store (please note: in-store and online specials may vary). babycity®

In-store Layby Terms and Conditions

  1. Laybys are available as a payment option in any physical babycity® store
  2. 2. A minimum 10% deposit of the full value of the goods is required
  3. A layby must have a minimum value of $20.00
  4. 4. Laybys up to $300 are valid for six weeks
  5. Laybys $301-$500 are valid for eight weeks
  6. Laybys $500-$800 are valid for ten weeks
  7. Laybys $801+ are valid for thirteen weeks
  8. Overdue or cancelled laybys incur a 10% administration/stock fee which will be charged on any cancelled layby. The 10% administration/stock fee is calculated as 10% of the total original layby amount.

babycity.co.nz requires full payment for products at the time of purchase.

Vouchers

  1. Rewards vouchers may be issued by babycity® from time to time and are personal and non-transferable.
  2. They can be used only once to purchase goods and services to the value of the amount shown on the face of the voucher.
  3. The voucher can be used at any babycity® store nationwide, and is not exchangeable for cash or gift cards.
  4. Please ensure you redeem your voucher before the expiry date, and in full, as no change will be given.
  5. babycity® is not liable for any loss, theft or damage to any voucher in the course of post or delivery; any stolen, mislaid, lost, destroyed or damaged voucher coupon; the suspension, change or termination of any bubclub™ programme; and the consequences of your loss of any of your bubclub™ or personal information following access by an unauthorised party.

bubclub™ and your privacy

babycity® collects and holds personal information in accordance with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1993. Your personal information is collected so that we can provide you with the benefits of bubclub™. babycity® may use your details from the application process, along with details on how you use bubclub™ and what you buy in our stores, to provide rewards and offers to you, and understand shopping habits, or to improve service.

If you consent, we will contact you with special offers, discounts and information about products and services (email or mobile phone txt) related to your shopping, that may be of interest to you and your family. We may also contact you for research (by email or by telephone) related to your shopping. 

Such information may be shared with companies working on our behalf, but information identifying an individual will not be passed on to a third party for their own use.

You can opt into or out of receiving promotions at any time by updating your details on our website www.babycity.co.nz.

You have the right to access and correct personal information, and can do this online at www.babycity.co.nz.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-transferable and cannot be credited to an account. No change will be given. Remaining balances on the card can be used for future purchases before the expiry date. Gift cards are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Gift cards should be treated like cash, as lost, stolen, or damaged cards cannot be replaced or refunded. Gift cards can be redeemed online and at any babycity® store nationwide but cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase other gift cards.

Gift Registry

All items listed on the website are expected to be available, but not guaranteed. Should gift items become unavailable, prior to their event date, babycity® will offer a substitute offer (approved by the registry creator).

babycity’s Customer Feedback Gift Card Draw

Entry Period: babycity’s customer feedback - gift card draw occurs monthly. Eligibility: All customers (excluding staff) who have shopped at a babycity® store, or online at babycity.co.nz during that month and who also complete the feedback form.

To Enter the draw: Purchase any item from babycity.co.nz or in-store, and complete the feedback form at https://www.babycity.co.nz/customer-feedback. Each feedback form submitted constitutes one entry into the draw. Only one feedback form per receipt can be submitted.

Winner: There will be one winner drawn at random per month, at the end of the month. The winner will be contacted via email or phone. In the event of the winner choosing not to accept a prize, babycity® will select another winner at our discretion. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted and fails to respond within one week of initial contact from babycity® or are unable to comply with these terms and conditions, babycity® reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random. The prize is as stated and is not redeemable for cash, transferable and alternatives cannot be offered. Only the person who originally entered the promotion can be awarded the prize. Failure to respond and/or provide an address for delivery, or failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in forfeit of the prize.

Prize: The winner will receive a babycity® gift card with the value of $50. This gift card cannot be redeemed for cash or credited to an account. The card need not be fully redeemed in one purchase but no change will be given. Remaining balances on the card can be used for future purchases before the expiry date. The card will be valid 5 years from the date of issue. The Gift card should be treated like cash as lost, stolen or damaged cards will not be replaced or refunded. This gift card will be mailed to the winner via a tracked courier package. Winner announcement: babycity® has the right to announce the name and location (town or city) of the winner. By entering the draw you give babycity® permission to capture a photo of you and your prize for marketing purposes including any feature online.

Competition Terms & Conditions of Entry

Online competition prizes will be shipped free of charge to a mainland New Zealand address. In-store competition prizes must be collected from that store. In the event of the winner choosing not to accept a prize, babycity® will select another winner at our discretion. The prize is as stated and is not redeemable for cash, transferable and alternatives cannot be offered. Only the person who originally entered the promotion can be awarded the prize. A winner will be selected at random and contacted via email or phone. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted and fails to respond within one week after initial contact from babycity® or are unable to comply with these terms and conditions, babycity® reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random. Failure to respond and/or provide an address for delivery, or failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in forfeit of the prize. babycity® is not responsible for prizes lost in transit. babycity® employees and their families are not eligible to be in to enter babycity® giveaways or competitions Winner announcement: babycity® reserves the right to announce the name and location (town or city) of the winner. By entering an in-store competition you give babycity® permission to capture a photo of you and your prize for marketing purposes including any feature online.

Colouring Competition

Terms & Conditions of Entry: Only one entry per entrant. Entrants must be aged 1-5 years old and have consent of their guardian. By entering the competition the artist gives babycity® permission to use their artwork for promotional purposes including any feature online. By submitting the colouring competition, guardians have read the terms and conditions. The winners will be selected by the babycity® store team and the winners will be contacted via details provided. By entering a competition you give babycity® permission to capture a photo of you and your prize for marketing purposes including any feature online.

Promotion Terms & Conditions

  1. Eligibility: This promotion applies to purchases made between March 1 2025 and March 31 2025 (inclusive).
    Qualifying products: must be purchased in one transaction, including:

  2. Product Registration: To qualify, the purchased product must be registered at mountainbuggy.com within 30 days of the purchase date.
  3. Proof of Purchase: A valid proof of purchase must be provided at the time of registration. It must clearly display:

    3. The retailer’s name from where you made the purchase (if applicable)
    4. The purchaser’s name
